Welcome to a new year!
Connected Math 8:
We have started the year off with a geometry unit that
explores surface area and volume of 3-d geometric shapes.
The students built geometry mobiles and did the corresponding
math calculations. This week (9/2) we have reviewed and
are taking quizzes on the concepts. As in most cases during
this course students may take a retest if they are dissatisfied
with their results. I recommend all students who earn scores
less than 70% do retakes. Our next unit will be linear math models.
Algebra:
We are about to finish chapter one which is a review of pre-Algebra
Concepts. The chapter test is on Tuesday 9/9.
Integrated:
Physical science has begun! Our first lab is Exploring the Pendulum.
Students will complete their first lab write-up and it will be due
Friday 9/4.
