Monday - start class with openers (clickers!), do problem 1.4 with a focus on making a table from a graph, debrief, homework is # 6 - 9 p 19 - 21
Tuesday - review homework, start problem 1.5 with a focus on making table and graph with only written clues, groups work together on large grid paper, homework is #24, 27 p 25 - 27
Wednesday - review homework, finish and share problem 1.5, homework is #10, 12, 30 p 21 - 28
Thursday - review homework, make/turn in homework bundles, start problem 2.1 with a focus on comparing two sets of data on both a table and graph, no homework tonight
Friday - hand bundles back with comments, finish and debrief problem 2.1, no homework tonight
Integrated - RoShamBo 3.0 [earth science]!!!!
Monday - Welcome!, today is about getting a "sampler" of some of the big concepts we will explore in class, game to demonstrate the three types of rock, relays to experiment with air pressure, all students given a spiral notebook for class [VERY IMPORTANT, THIS WILL BE USED EVERYDAY FOR NOTES, LABS, PROJECTS, AND OPEN NOTE TESTS], mind map of what will be learned in RoShamBo this year, students take notes in spiral, debrief activities from start of class, homework is to decorate spiral cover with pictures that represent what we will learn in class [DUE TOMORROW]
Tuesday - quick share of spiral covers, article about "Perfect Climate" read aloud, students capture information with notes and pictures in spiral, discuss and start "juicy question" list, shrinking the solar system activity outside, debrief
Wednesday - birthdays in space activity along with textbook tour to find information, work in groups to make birthday calculations, start earth to scale activity
Thursday - finish and share earth to scale activity, share, debrief and display final "posters", discussion of real vs apparent, students take notes and brainstorm list
Friday - start Earth, Moon, Sun unit of study!! form groups in creative way, handout resources/station supplies and start becoming experts on specific topic; these include - eclipses, seasons, daylight hours, rotation/revolution, and phases of the moon
