Math Block Two [Stretching and Shrinking, focus on scale factor]

Monday: start class with openers, do problem 4.1 with a focus on using scale factor and side length ratio to compare rectangles and parallelograms, homework for tonight is # 15 - 20, 22 - 25 p 70
Tuesday: review homework, finish and share problem 4.1, homework for tonight is # 1 p 66
Wednesday: review homework, start problem 4.2 with a focus on using scale factor and side length ratio to compare triangles, homework for tonight is # 2 p 66 - 67
Thursday: review homework and turn in homework bundles, finish and share problem 4.2, homework for tonight is to bring any necessary materials to work on the GRID FIGURE PROJECT [THIS PROJECT IS DUE NEXT FRIDAY OCTOBER 30]
Friday: bundles handed back with comments, work time for GRID FIGURE PROJECT, "help table" set up for students who have questions about scale factor applications, no homework tonight

RoShamBo 3.0 [Integrated - earth science]

Monday: crazy map mix up activity/assessment, partners work to put a series of weather maps in the correct order using Weather Watch data, notes from science journal and textbooks, once the order is determined, partners plan the display and explanation part of the project, homework is to bring in any necessary materials to continue working on the map mix up project, NOTE - LTP ROUGH DRAFT DUE FRIDAY
Tuesday: hand back Soil vs Water lab reports with comments, go to the library/computer lab to work on the crazy map mix up project WHICH IS DUE TOMORROW IN CLASS, NOTE - LTP ROUGH DRAFT DUE FRIDAY
Wednesday: partners present their crazy map mix up projects, form groups for the NATURAL HAZARDS CAFE GROUP PROJECT, NOTE - LTP ROUGH DRAFT DUE FRIDAY
Thursday: start research and group work on NATURAL HAZARDS CAFE PROJECT, NOTE - LTP ROUGH DRAFT DUE FRIDAY
Friday: LTP ROUGH DRAFT DUE/COLLECTED, go to library/computer lab for LTP research and NATURAL HAZARDS GROUP PROJECT WORK
