Welcome to Arapahoe Ridge, the best alternative!  I am excited to be here for my fourth year of teaching Language Arts.  I enjoy getting to know each student and working with you during your high school journey. In my classes, we will use reading, writing, speaking, and listening to explore life and the world around us.  You will also have many guided opportunities to express your ideas and opinions in writing and speaking and to listen and learn from others.

After spending my childhood on the East Coast, I moved to the Midwest to attend the University of Michigan.  Upon graduating, I walked into my first job at an alternative high school and quickly discovered I loved it.  So after moving to beautiful Colorado, I enrolled at CU to get a Masters in Education, with an emphasis on experiential ed.  I have been teaching for twelve years now, and each year just keeps getting better.

I live in Louisville, with my husband and two young daughters.  Late afternoons, you can often find my daughters and me playing at the park or reading books at the public library.  On the weekends, we try to get up into the mountains whenever possible, to ski, hike or camp.  There’s nothing like sitting around a campfire, after a long hike, and watching the stars come out.  When I’m not teaching or on a mountain adventure, I love to make art projects, bake cookies, read, play soccer, build sand castles, and most of all, spend time with family and friends.
