I grew up in Lakewood, Colorado, and graduated from Alameda High School.  I loved my high school French class so much that I decided to live in France for a year before pursuing my college education.  I went to high school in France as an exchange student and lived with three different families for an entire school year.   I believe this gives me personal insight into the specific challenges that students at new schools face -- especially when they speak another language!

Upon starting college, I was accidentally put into a Spanish class, and I fell in love with another foreign language besides French.  I managed to spend three months living and studying in Guadalajara, Mexico, before I graduated from CU with a double major in Spanish and French, in addition to my teacher's certificate.  After that, I spent two years in Fort collins teaching at and receiving my Master's Degree in Spanish Literature from CSU.

Since then, I have taught at Nederland, Fairview, Boulder, Arvada West, and Standley Lake High Schools, as well as day and evening classes to adults at Front Range Community College.  Besides sharing my love and enthusiasm for speaking other languages with other people, I also love to spend time with my husband and two children, I knit obsessively and I spoil my two calico cats.

I look forward to seeing you in my classroom!
