Business Foundations – The introduction course for students who want to take business Elective classes. It discusses the many aspects of the business world.
Business Management – A computer simulation of an American Corporation. Students make weekly decisions regarding pricing; advertising; research and development; expenses; insurance to carry; what markets of United States to sell in; and other weekly computer entries to gain the maximum profit for their team’s corporation.
Accounting 1 - A basic bookkeeping class to teach students the accounting formula, journal entry, posting, ledgers, worksheets and financial statements.
Business Law – Students learn the basics of law as it relates to their lives and small businesses. Current events and cases in the news are a big part of this class. Case analysis and discussions are a large part of this course as well as vocabulary study.
Person Finance – Students learn how to develop a total financial plan: Goals, Budgets, Investments, Recordkeeping, Auto and Home (Rental) Insurance, and how to use credit.
Marketing - Students learn the steps of a sales presentation; how to develop a good advertisement; careers in sales, and many marketing skills to be a good business person.
Entrepreneurship - Students learn how to develop a business plan and start their own business. We also use business people from Boulder as guest speakers to tell their stories.
