Information about 6th Grade:

Amy Boley:
I have been teaching for 15 years and my favorite thing to teach is math. I graduated for Bethany College. My favorite quote is, “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care”. Some strategies I find effective are using fun, and humor while still using hard work.

Deanne Davies:
I have been teaching for 17 years and my favorite thing to teach is reading. I graduated at Colorado University. My favorite quote is, “LIVE! LOVE! LEARN”. Some teaching strategies I finds effective are Models, giving examples – to show, not tell, whenever possible.

Mike Romero:
I am a sixth grade physical science teacher and have been teaching for a monster 32 years. WOW! My favorite thing to teach is physics of motion. I graduated at the University of Colorado in Boulder. My favorite quote is, “Believe in yourself…dare to dream”. Some strategies I find effective in teaching is hands on inquiry, continuing to ask questions, and relizing learning is a life long experience.

Adam Rothberg:
I have been teaching for 2 years. My favorite thing to teach is poetry. I graduated at Colorado University. My favorite quote is, “A genius is someone who can express that which everyone else already know” -Schiller. Some strategies I find effective in my teaching are using open ended assignments, small group and individual instruction.

Lisa Turner:
I have been teaching for 18 years. My favorite part of the Social Studies curriculum is the Caribbean. I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Then I taught skiing at Winter Park for 8 years. After that, I got my Masters from the University of Colorado. Lately, I have been taking classes at the University of Denver focusing on teaching the Gifted and Talented. I still ski as often as I can, Copper Mountain and Winter Park are 2 of my favorite areas. The steeper and more bumps the better! My favorite quote is: "When life gives you lemons make lemonade". Some strategies I find effective in my teaching are individualizing and differentiating instruction based on students' needs, interests and learning styles. I was on the planning team for Aspen Creek before it was finished being built. I love teaching here!!
