EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

For the 2007-08 school year, Mr. Carlos Perez will serve as the athletic and activities director and Mrs. Val Hedlund will be athletic and activities administrative assistant. If you have questions or concerns regarding athletic programs and activities, please contact one.

Aspen Creek K-8 offers students a wide variety of extracurricular programs such as chess group, Lego league, drama club, intramural sports, and school musicals. Some of these clubs may be fee based activities. These after school offerings allow students to grow physically, socially and emotionally during some of their most formative years. In addition, they offer short, exploratory opportunities in recreational activities that may become that may become life long skills. We strongly encourage all Aspen Creek K-8 students to involve themselves in at least one extracurricular program during this school year.  Being involved in activities will positively impact a students school experience at Aspen Creek K-8. Challenge yourself by getting involved. A comprehensive list of current activities and appropriate grade levels will be available at back to school in September and at parent teacher conferences.

Aspen Creek K-8 offers a wide array of clubs and organizational programs: student council, plays, outdoor education, choir and yearbook. In addition there are numerous competitions throughout the school year such as spelling bee, science fair, and geography bee. Watch the student announcements and school newsletter for more information regarding these programs. Students must be present at school at least half a day to be eligible to participate in that day’s extracurricular activities. Remember that student involvement in the total school program will be a key factor in student’s success at Aspen Creek K-8 and in her/his future endeavors. Any questions about clubs and organizations should be directed to an administrator or the clubs faculty sponsor.
