Bear Creek Elementary School is situated on a hilltop at the base of
the Flatirons, Boulder's dramatic rock formation, and we enjoy a
panoramic view of the city of Boulder and the Colorado plains.
The impressive mountain backdrop is a daily inspiration reminding us
that our thirty-year tradition of maintaining a strong school community
is the bedrock upon which we strive to reach high academic goals.
By enveloping children in a safe, nurturing environment and teaming
with parents and the community to ensure learning for all students, we
can inspire students to conquer their mountains and realize their
dreamas.
In 2006 Bear Creek was recongnized as a "National
Blue Ribbon School." The Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors
both public and private K-12 schools that are determined by the U.S.
Department of Education to be either academically superior or to have
shown dramatic gains in student achievement. The Blue Ribbon
designation is awarded to approximately five schools in Colorado each
year, Bear Creek representatives were invited to Washington, D.C. for a
nationial ceremony to meet with other Blue Ribbon schools and to share
ideas that have led to school success.
