Student Philosophy

 Mission Statement Founded on a rich tradition committed to a philosophy which supports academic excellence through teaming, exploration and developing relationships, BHMS provides a safe, respectful environment that promotes high achievement, personal responsibility and life-long learning while attending to the unique needs of all middle level students.
 BHMS Philosophy

Broomfield Heights Middle School will provide a positive learning environment to meet the unique and personal needs of the pre and early adolescent. Building on basic skills acquired in elementary school, students will explore expanded curriculum while becoming more self directed in preparation for high school and responsible entrance into the community. This philosophy shall be accomplished through the development of:

  • Realistic and wholesome self concept as well as an appreciation for others.
  • Basic skills
  • Exploratory activities
  • Personal growth in decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Individual creativity, curiosity and inquiry.
  • Personal pride, positive work attitudes, and desire for success.
  • Career awareness, consumer
  • responsibilities and leisure time activities.
  • Supportive relationships between home, school, and community.

Broomfield Heights Middle School is a good place to learn. It is a clean, bright, safe, comfortable and peaceful place where we can learn and work. We will get a good education so we can go on to high school while at the same time enjoying our school and its activities. A place where we can:

  • Work hard, be helpful, friendly, and meet new friends.
  • Take basic subjects
  • Study new and different subjects, learn new things and participate in different activities.
  • Have many choices.
  • Have many things going on so that learning will be done in different ways.
  • Develop personal pride and cooperate with the rules and standards of the school.
  • Find out about careers and learn skills which may help us get a job.
  • Have volunteers and parents in our school helping us.
  • Have good todays and better tomorrows.
