In the spring, students hold a Walk Through Time Open House. Eighth Grade Earth Science
students host students from other schools as well as students from
Broomfield Heights Middle
School and interested adults.
 | Eighth graders welcome other students to the
Walk Through Time Open House. |
 | As observers walk the 600 foot path, they pass through 600 million
years of geologic time and each of the major geologic periods. Earth Science students explain
the Rocky Mountain region as it appeared during each geologic period. |
 | Hundreds of students and many adults visit the
Walk Through Time during an Open House. |
 | Sixth graders learn about the Cambrian Period
"explosion" of life. |
 | On a beautiful spring day, students listen attentively as
they learn about fish who swam in this area during the Devonian Period. |
 | Student tour guides point out that a dragonfly
had a wingspan of close to one meter during the Pennsylvanian Period. |
 | Students observe the texture of Lyons sandstone - the
building material used at the University of Colorado. |
