Centaurus High School provides students with a solid academic foundation designed to stimulate intellectual curiosity and a love of learning. Our students are challenged to think critically, to organize their thoughts logically and to express their ideas effectively.

Centaurus is both a Pre-Engineering Academy as well as an International Baccalaureate World School. Located in Lafayette, CO, our population of just over 1000 students come from Boulder Valley and beyond to enjoy the rich academic, athletic and extracurricular offerings Centaurus provides.

College Admissions

The course admission requirements for public colleges and universities in the state of Colorado will change for students entering college for the first time 2008-2009, and changes again with the high school graduating class of 2010. Please be aware that the requirements do not mirror BVSD graduation requirements in their entirety. Link to our Graduation Requirements page for further information.

Freshman Seminar and LINKS

Link Crew is a program that trains next year's seniors to be positive role models for incoming freshmen.   Freshmen get to know their Link Leader personally through a series of carefully planned and practiced activities on freshmen Orientation Day in August.  Then the Link Leaders are responsible for inviting the freshmen into school activities and warning them away from behaviors that lead to failure in school and in life.  The Link Leaders intervene in disciplinary matters affecting their crew and help arrange tutoring for them when necessary.  In short, the Link Leaders are role models assisting freshmen throughout their first year at Centaurus to create a school culture of dignity, respect, and success

Tutoring Assistance

The CTC will be open from 7:30 until 4:00 in room 206 to provide the following academic support.

  1. Assigning a tutor for any subject (peer and adult).
  2. Study groups on Monday, Wednesday & Thursday.
  3. Resources to complete class projects.
  4. Homework support.
  5. Access to computers.

Use the CTC during your free period or after school. The CTC is in the same classroom as “Connections”. Now you can make up credit and get help with homework!

Connections

The Connections Program at Centaurus will serve a very important role for students. This program will provide a "second chance" opportunity for students who are losing credit due to excessive unexcused absences. For students to be in the Connections Program, they must be passing the class. Use this link to learn more about Connections.
