Interscholastic Athletics
2007-2008
Education involves the process of living in the present, understanding the past, and preparing for the future. Education is a lifelong pursuit of learning and sharing with others. During the middle level years, students will experience not only significant, but often the most dramatic, physical, social, intellectual, and emotional changes in life. The middle level program design provides the student with the basic skills of inquiry and successful experiences in exploration and enrichment.
The interscholastic athletic program provides a transition between the intramural programs of the 6th and 7th grade levels and the more competitive high school program. The program offers continued emphasis on participation and enjoyment of physical activity while allowing increased attention to coaching and skill development, with six to eight contests with other schools.

to participation in interscholastic activities and the nature of the sanctions
to be imposed shall be made by the principal of the school sponsoring the
particular interscholastic activity. It
is recommended that before imposing a sanction, the principal should have an
opportunity to discuss the situation with the student, his or her parents and
relevant school district personnel.
However, the principal may, where he or she determines it to be
appropriate and in the best interests of the school, impose sanctions prior to
or without any such discussion.
Sanctions which may be imposed include one or more of the following:
1.
