The Saddleback Caterpillar

By Andrew B.

You are walking through the cool breezy forest. You hear flapping. Something flies down. It's a Saddleback with 1,000s of gleaming scales. Ever think how many busy bristles the saddleback caterpillar has? Well, a lot. Is the Saddleback a butterfly or a moth? It is a moth. A Saddleback is really rough. When predators attack, it uses its horns. When a bird attacks, it just climbs a tree and blends in. The reason birds don't usually eat it is because it tastes bad. But the real question is what does it eat? Well I'll tell you, it eats fruit.

I got my information from a book called CREEPY, CRAWLY CATERPILLAR.
