The Puss Moth

People call it the Puss Moth because of the way it defends itself. The Puss Moth looks like a cat spitting. It rolls up and sprays formic acid out of its head at its enemies' eyes. It lays yellow eggs. When it comes out of the egg, the caterpillar is black and has two tails. When it is a full grown caterpillar it's green, gray, red and white and 2 inches long. When the Puss Moth is in its cocoon it is covered with fur on the outside of the cocoon. The Puss Moth uses its hard pupa case to break out of the cocoon. When it's a moth it's brown, tan and white. Puss Moths are eaten by frogs, birds, lizards. They are a member of the notodtid family. They live in Europe and Asia on poplar trees.

I got my information from CREEPY, CRAWLY CATERPILLARS.
