Interesting Facts about the Painted Lady

The world's most widespread butterfly is dark orange and black with a few spots of white. The Painted Lady looks a lot like a Monarch. The Painted Lady lives in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa. The Painted Lady caterpillar's eggs are as big as a pinhead. That's amazing! It is a very strong flyer. It can travel up to 620 miles and not even get tired. When the Painted Lady caterpillar hatches it eats right after it was hatched. The Painted Lady can live longer than any butterfly.

I got my information from the book FROM CATERPILLAR TO BUTTERFLY.

We raised Painted Lady Butterflies in my class. This is the one I released sitting on my hand.
