The Emperor Moth

By Rachael F.

Wht is it? A piece of the moon? No. It's an Emperor Moth, one of the largest moths in the world. If an Emperor Moth is a female it can have ten babies a month and a total of120 a year. Females have the same body pattern as males, but females are just a little pinker. You can tell the male from the female because the male has longer antennae. The male can smell a female from 6 miles away The adult Emperor Moth doesn't eat because it doesn't have any mouth parts.

I got my information from BUTTERFLIES AND MOTHS by Barbara Taylor.
