Poisonous Butterflies

By Robert D.

Have you seen a bird or spider eat a Smoky Wing or a Monarch Butterfly? You would not want to be that bird or spider because those butterflies are poisonous! Eating Monarch Butterflies can be fatal to its enemies. Jane and Lincoln Brower found out that bright colored insects like a Monarch are poisonous. But butterflies do not have to be bright colors to be poisonous. The Smoky Wing is poisonous and it is pale yellow and black. The Atrophaneura Swallowtail has a little pink but it is mostly dark colors.

I got my information from BUTTERFLIES, a ZooBook. <
