The Caterpillar

Imagine that your skin becomes too tight, and as you go along with your friend, your skin falls off! That is what happens to the caterpillar as he walks across a juicy leaf. Well, it's true, and so is this! Amazingly, the caterpillars skin comes off four times before it changes into a beautiful butterfly.

The caterpillar has a big hairy body, its body is also covered with bristles. Now this is the most exciting event, they grow in just three weeks. They have long horns that seem to be only for decoration, but I'm sure they are there for a reason. They have six true legs like all insects. But...they also have eight false legs. They have very big jaws to eat through one leaf at a time. The caterpillar is divided into thirteen different parts.

I got my information from THE BUTTERFLY AND CATERPILLAR and THE MONARCH BUTTERFLY
