Mary Jean Pope, (K-5th music)
and Barb Eberhardt, (4th-5th music) are honored to continue
the tradition of teaching music to the children of Coal Creek
Elementary following the Orff Schulwerk process.
Children in an Orff Schulwerk classroom
sing, speak, move, play, listen, imagine and create with fun
and discovery.
We will sing and develop voices
through fun experiences with quality folk, children's, classical
and contemporary songs. We will use speech to find rhythm,
accent, mood and movement incorporating student ideas, poetry,
rhyme and the sound of language. Music will become dance as
we see, feel, move in place and travel across the floor. As
instrumental sounds join with song, speech and dance we will
find a rich musical expression. We will work with a spirit
of play and learn as we create music.

Music Presentation
Scheduled!! Every student in the school will be involved
in an informative and entertaining music presentation during
the school year. At these events, students have the opportunity
to demonstrate a wide variety of activities and skills developed
in their music classes. We hope you will attend.

REHEARSALS: Our choir
meets almost every Thursday morning, at 7:20 a.m., starting
September 13, 2007 until we start our performances. The Rehearsals
dates are September 13, 20, 27; October 4, 11, 18, 25; November
1, 8, 15, 29; December 6, 13, 20; January 10, 17, 24, 31;
February 7. PLEASE be on time!
