Creekside Elementary has an active School Improvement Team (SIT) consisting of parents, faculty, and our school Principal. It is one of the most active and effective such teams in the district. Our monthly meetings provide a chance for open and insightful discussions about issues important to our school community, including curriculum, school goals, budgets, fundraising, and school social events to name a few.

Our SIT is open to all members of our school community and everyone attending a meeting is eligible to vote on any actions we take. We meet on the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in our school library. To make it easy to attend, child care is always provided, as is a Spanish interpreter.

Creekside teachers and visitors to our monthly SIT meetings always comment on the respectful, considerate, productive, and fun nature of our meetings. In the words of a 12-year teaching veteran new to our school, “In all my years of teaching, I have never seen such an involved, caring, and active parent community.”
