Ted
Romero, Head Coach,
is returning to the Fairview swim team as head coach this year from being an Co - Head Coach last year. Originally from
Englewood,
Colorado, Ted has participated swimming, basketball, and football at
Regis Jesuit High School where he graduated in 1999. While swimming at
Regis he went to State his Junior and Senior years. Senior year he
place 3rd in the 100yd freestyle and 4th in the 200yd freestyle earning
a three time all-American in the 200yd free, 200yd freestyle relay, and
400yd freestyle relay. Ted's biggest accomplishment in high school was
starting off with a time of 1:03 in the 100yd free his freshman year
and ending up with a :47.5 his senior year. He continued to swim at the
University of Nevada at Las Vegas for two years, lettering both years.
Ted transferred to University of Colorado at Boulder to pursue a
History Degree. While earning a BA in History, Ted took an extensive
amount of course work in Secondary Education. Realizing he didn't want
to become a teacher in the classroom, he went back to school to earn a
B.S. in Integrative Physiology, and will be graduating in December
2007. Ted currently works at the Boulder Valley YMCA as a Certified
Personal Trainer, and also teaches Cycling classes, Sport Conditioning
classes, and Triathlon Classes. At the YMCA, Ted has trained people to
run personal bests in the Bolder Boulder, how to overcome two knee
replacements, and is training mountaineers to become fit to climb Mt.
Everest next August. Ted has been teaching private and group swim
lesson for 11 years and has coached summer league swim teams in south
Denver
for three summer seasons, 1999-2001. Ted has coached Masters Swimming
for Lakeshore Athletic Club for several years. He also has started his
own online Personal Training business, PEAK FORM TRAINING, where he
coaches and trains people with a variety of interests and fitness
levels. Currently Ted is competing in Triathlons, where he continues to
place in the top five overall and in his age group at races. Ted also
competes in Mountain Running events, where his biggest accomplishment
to date is an 18th place finish out of 1600 people at the Pikes Peak
Ascent in 2006, with some the best runners in the country. |

Amy Brophy Webb, Assistant Coach , swam in the BVSSL for 11 years with Mesa Swim Team. She competed for Niwot High School where she was co-captain and also lettered. She has 12 summers of coaching experience with the BVSSL with both the Flyers Swim Team and Mesa Swim Team. She is currently the Head Coach at Mesa Swim Team. In 2002, she was the Fairview Girls Swim Team assistant coach. She also competes on the national level for Boulder Aquatic Masters as well as coaches for them. She continues to teach swimming lessons to all ages through Boulder Swimming Academy. amy@webbwork.com |

Tony Novak, Diving Coach,
is taking over as the boys diving coach. He grew up in, Germantown,
Maryland and started diving as a freshman at Seneca Valley High
School. He later earned a diving scholarship to East Carolina
University. During his attendance at ECU, he placed in the
top 8
in the conference every year on the diving team. Tony
graduated
in 1997 with a B.S. in Physiology and later went back for a degree in
Education. He is currently a teacher and coach at Southern
Hills
Middle School in Boulder. Tony is coaching the girls team for Fairview
too. |
