Anna Hamlen
FOURTH GRADE

Ms. Ransom

Anna Hamlen, a New England native, moved to Boulder eight years ago. This is her first year at Heatherwood Elementary and she is pleased to be teaching fourth grade.

After six years working in Advertising, Marketing and Sales, Anna decided to become a teacher. She is not new to teaching, as she has worked at numerous educational centers and camps in the past, teaching nature and outdoor skills. For the past five summers she has led overnight wilderness adventure trips throughout Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana through CU’s Science Discovery.

Anna has an undergraduate degree from Colby College where she studied American Studies and Sociology and a Masters in Educational Psychology from University of Colorado at Denver. Anna comes to Heatherwood after an internship year as a fourth grade teacher at Friends’ School in Boulder and a year as a fifth grade teacher at Coal Creek Elementary in Louisville.

During Anna’s free time she enjoys being outside – hiking, skiing, biking, camping, singing and playing the guitar, traveling, writing, spending time with family and friends, and laughing.
