Laura Mooiman
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Laura Mooiman (pronounced moy-man) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been the School Social Worker for Heatherwood Elementary since Fall of 2007. Born and raised in Fresno, California, she has a BA in Psychology and Art from the University of California at Davis, and a Masters in Social Work from University of California Los Angeles. After working as an art teacher, she became a social worker in 1998 and gained experience working for social services, probation, community mental health agencies, private practice, and school social work. Laura enjoys working with children to address barriers to student achievement by looking for strengths in order to empower children. Laura is married and has two young daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, art, travel, hiking, gardening, and reading (she’s a Jane Austen fanatic!).
