CHRISTOPHER NEWBY
FOURTH/FIFTH GRADE (HIMAC)

       Chris has taught ungraded primary, special education, and literature in addition to his current stint as part of the Heatherwood HIMAC team. Chris has been at Heatherwood for 8 years, over which time he also graduated from CU in 1999 (Go Buffs!). He has two daughters, Kyrie and Claire Kim. As those who are aware of his involvement with the Heatherwood Hotshots know, he enjoys choral singing but also enjoys birding and science fiction. Some of his favorite things include scooter, Lord of the Rings ("I loved it before it was popular, in 1970") and Stephen King. He enjoys teaching, he says, because "the key to a good life is a love of learning."
