This year, Ms. Standefer is teaching Fifth Grade at Heatherwood. She has a lot of experience with this age group. After being born in Iowa, she attended college in California, getting both a B.A. in Human Growth and Development and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Elementary Mathematics Education. After teaching fifth and sixth grade in Montana for ten years, she moved to Colorado and started teaching at Heatherwood, where she's been since 1988. At Heatherwood, she's taught third/fourth, fourth, fourth/fifth, fifth, and sixth grade classes. She has a grown son, Ryan, plus three black labs and two cats who make her family complete. She now spends time reading, knitting, hiking, gardening and painting eggs. "We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power.
