KAREN HENSLEY
LITERACY
Karen is entering her eighth
year at Heatherwood in 2007 following two years as a paraprofessional at Whittier. She hails from a suburb of Chicago
but got her B.S. from CU in communications and an M.A. from CU
in education/curriculum development. She loves working at Heatherwood because the parents, kids, and staff make up a great community.
As
befits a literacy teacher, her hobbies include writing and reading
(Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier and Pentimento by Lillian Hellman are her favorite books) but also include
travelling, food, art, her dogs, and of course being with her family and friends.
Her 22-year-old son followed her
to CU, and her 17-year-old daughter attended Boulder High.
