Keena Unruh Keena returned to Boulder from Southern Colorado in 2004 and loves teaching and making music with the amazing kids at Heatherwood! Born and raised near Dodge City, Kansas, Keena holds a degree from CU Boulder in Music Education and earned her Elementary teaching certificate from Regis University. With her experience as a classroom teacher as well as a Music Specialist, Keena particularly enjoys integrating musical development with literacy, math, social studies, and the science of sound. Prior to teaching, Keena spent several years in the hospitality industry. She owned and operated Poppies Restaurant and the Pantry Basket Bakery & Café in Denver, as well as Chicosa Canyon Bed & Breakfast in Trinidad, Colorado.
