MARYA MOORE
PARAPROFESSIONAL

      Ms. Moore started at Heatherwood at the beginning of 2000. She's a Colorado native, born in Gunnison and raised in Louisville. She's spent time at two childcare facilities and so has worked with kids from 0 to 12, and she graduated from the Pima Medical Institute in 1998. She's working on her B.A. at present. At Heatherwood she works with children in all grade levels.

     Ms. Moore enjoys spending time with her partner of 13 years and their two children, an 11 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. Some of that time is spent watching sports and movies or travelling in the mountains. She hopes to get time to read more and learn to cook a variety of meals.

     "The kids in my class past and present give me the most wonderful memories. There is not just one that stands out. To see them achieve even the smallest of goals is the most awesome thing to see. When you experience something like that on a daily basis, there is no other feeling in the world that could compare except having my own kids. When they leave they take a part of me with them and leave a little part of themsleves behind."
