ED Team Committees
Standing committees have various responsibilities and make recommendations to the ED Team. Each committee is chaired by either a parent or teacher. Membership in each committee is open to all members of the High Peaks community. Parent involvement plays a crucial role in making High Peaks successful.
» Goals, Accountability & School Improvement Team (SIT)- The SIT committee is charged with formulating, reviewing, and supporting annual school goals, the school SRA budget and the End-of-Year DAC report.» Finance - The Finance committee is charged with formulating a parent fund budget to be submitted to the Board for approval. Grant Writing and Fundraising are subcommittees of the Finance Committee.
» Curriculum - The Curriculum Committee evaluates and provides input regarding the curriculum and educational resources used at High Peaks.
» Challenge - Challenge is a sub-committee of curriculum that plans and develops extracurricular programs that enrice the Core Knowledge curriculum. This includes the Chess Club, Geography Bee, Spelling Bee, Junior Great Books, Science Fair, High Peaks Post, Math Olympiads, and Destination Imagination. They work closely with the Talented and Gifted (TAG) program.
» Spirit - The Spirit Committee developes and implements programs and activities to foster a sense of community at High Peaks and coordinates volunteer efforts to support school activities.
» Publications & Publicity - The Publications Committee is responsible for overseeing all High Peaks related publications including Picture Day and the school yearbook.
» Open Enrollment - The Open Enrollment Committee coordinates all events related to open enrollment.
» Web Site - The Web Site Committee develops and implements all communications done using the school web site.
» District Accountability Committee (DAC) - The DAC rep meets with the district committee monthly to advise the Board of Education on the adequacy and efficiency of the educational programs offered by the district.
» District Parent Council (DPC) -The DPC representative meets monthly with other school reps, the BVSD superintendent, and a school board member to discuss current issues affecting the school district
