Earth Floor - General explanation of the basic system of animal classification.

Bitesize Revision - Helpful information on the classification of living things with a good overview of the animal kingdom and characteristics from kingdom through phylum.

Classification information:

The following sites each have classification information about many (but not all) of your animals.

Sea World - This site has some specific animals. Start with your class then select your specific animal. Most, but not all, files include the scientific classification.

San Diego Zoo - Use this site and pick your order, location or ecosystem to find more about your animal.

eNature - Good descriptions of specific animals.

Animal Diversity Web - Use this site to type in your order and learn about it.

Enchanted Learning - This is a good one if your animal is a mammal.
