About Manhattan Middle

School of Arts and Academics

Manhattan Middle School is an academic arts focus and neighborhood school program, grades 6 - 8, in the Boulder Valley School District. Our challenging academic program consists of the Boulder Valley School District middle school curriculum and in addition, an arts focus program. The arts focus program, which students may chose to be a part of if they wish, is modeled after the Getty Arts curriuclum.

Students who are enrolled in our arts focus program participate fully in our rigorous academic programs and, in addition, participate in either visual, dramatic, or musical arts. (The two portraits above are done by MMSAA students). Students are able to take a double block (90 minutes per day) of arts enabling them to experience the depth and breadth of a rich arts program including topics such as art history, staging and original music composition. Each spring and fall the school is host to an Arts Festival during which students display and perform their work. Watch the website for dates and times of the Festival.

Manhattan Middle School opened in August, 2003. The school was formed through a merger of two Boulder Valley middle schools and an infusion of students from around the district. The two schools were Base Line Middle School of the Arts and Burbank Middle School. We offer the same athletic programs as other BVSD middle schools and in addition we have a science outing club, a bike club, a Math Counts team and many other activities to engage and motivate young people.

Manhattan Middle School is a vibrant, challenging, diverse and exciting place to learn! We welcome your inquiries. Call us at 303-494-0335 or explore our web site further.
