Drama
Monarch Thespians regularly qualify for nationally recognized competitions. The drama department stages up to four performances annually where everyone is encouraged to participate. Of the approximately one hundred students in Monarch’s Thespian Society, 15 to 20 percent pursue theater as a college major.

Bands
With over 100 members, the Monarch marching band consistently ranks as one of the state’s finest. Drumline earned a state championship. Monarch sponsors three jazz bands, the most advanced of which placed second in a national competition. Monarch also offers two winds groups. The advanced winds ensemble is considered excellent by national standards.

Orchestra
Monarch musicians are regularly invited to perform in prestigious state and regional ensembles, including the Colorado All-State Orchestra and the Western States Honor Orchestra.

Choirs
Monarch’s All-State choirs include mixed and same-sex choirs, small and large ensembles, and after-school choirs. They perform a variety of musical styles, from pop to rock to jazz.
