See everyone on Monday.
Coach
Hey Everyone,
Looks like the weather should be good for tomorrow's meet at CU's Potts Field! They are having a bike
race down near the track tomorrow, so they are recommending using the entrance to the CU Research
Park, (first right on Colorado after you go west from Foothills Pkwy), to get to the track. Hope to see lots
of parents at the meet tomorrow.
Coach
Hey Everyone,
I still need 3 volunteers to work the Guys LJ on Saturday, you would need to be at the meet at 8:00am,
no experience necessary.
Please let me know if you can help.
Coach
Track Parents,
Thank you to all of you who provided snacks last week.
For those of you who didn't sign up to bring snacks this Saturday - please bring 8-10 of the
items below according to the first initial of the student's last name.
A-F - bagels, PBJ, Cheese sandwiches
G-L - Granola Bars, crackers, etc
M-R- Gatorade, juice
S-Z - fruit
Thanks for your help in keeping our Coyotes well fed and energized!
Robin Davis
Hey Everyone,
I need 5 volunteers to help work the guys Long Jump on Saturday! No experience needed! Volunteers
would need to be at the meet at 8:00am for run through's. Let me know if you can help.
Saturday's meet is once again at CU's Potts Field and will start at 8:30, buses leave from the school at
7:00am. Some of the same teams will be there and some new ones as well, should be another good
meet.
Last week's meet ran as much as an hour ahead of schedule, so if you are bringing your
athlete, please allow plenty of time.
Coach
Hey Parents,
I would like to enlist your help to make sure your athlete's are coming to practice prepared to workout in
all kinds of weather. Yesterday was a good example of a day where kids should have been wearing
sweat pants/tights and sweatshirt/underarmour, hats and gloves, and yet we had many kids in t-shirts
and shorts! Not having the right apparel on cold days is asking for an injury, the last thing we want for
our athlete's! From this point forward, athlete's showing up to practice without the correct gear will be
sent home and marked down for an unexcused absence. Please help us as coaches to keep your athlete's
healthy and ready to compete!
Thanks,
Coach
Hi everyone
Here is the registration form for camp this summer.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Please forward this to any incoming freshmen who might be interested.
Brad
Hey Everyone,
Here is a link to the results from today's Boulder Invite:
http://www.directathletics.com/results/track/14967.html
Congrats on a strong performance by many of our athlete's including Matt Colllins new school record in
the HJ of 6' 2" and a new school record in the 4x800 relay of 8:26.54 by Joe Marchand, Jackson Friesth,
Ryan Brophy and Kirk Webb! Lot's of other great performances as well.
See everyone on Monday.
Coach
Hey Everyone,
There are no bleachers at the CU track, so you will want to bring portable chairs, it's a long day!
Coach
Hey Everyone,
Just a reminder that the meet tomorrow has been moved to CU's Potts Field with an updated schedule
that I have attached. Please note that they will run ahead of schedule if possible. Make sure athlete's
are prepared for inclement weather. Hope to see everyone there.
Coach
Hey Everyone,
The BHS coach has revised the schedule for the meet this Saturday and next, and will start at 8:30
instead of 9. Also, I still need a few volunteers to help with the HJ on Saturday, please e-mail me if you
can help.
Thanks,
Coach

Subject: Track Snacks
Track Parents, We have had inquiries as to the amount of food to bring for this
Saturday's meet. Paula figured for those bringing food to plan on enough for 8-10
athletes. I know I told several of you to bring more; but I think the 8-10 number should
be sufficient. We can then gauge what we need for future meets after this week end.
Some kids do bring their own snacks and drinks so I don't think we need to over do it!
Please let us know if we have missed anything. Thanks. Robin
Hey Everyone,
The meet on Saturday has been moved to CU Potts Field. This is one of the best tracks in the state and
the site of the Big 12 Outdoor T&F Championships 2 years ago. I have attached a copy of the meet schedule
and will post the athlete's events on Thursday at practice. Directions to Potts Field are: Foothills
Parkway to Colorado, Colorado West to Discovery go thru the Office Park to stop sign track is to the North.
We are running the HJ at this meet and need 2 volunteers to help out our coaches. Let me know if you
are available.
We will be handing out uniforms and warm-ups on Friday after practice from about 4-4:45 and I need 5-6
volunteers to help, please let me know if you are available.
Also, last chance to sign up for Wednesday night's nutrition class, please e-mail me by noon tomorrow
so that I can let Ms. Olsen know how many people to plan for.

Subject: Snacks
Track Parents, We have decided to post a snack sign up sheet at the meets. The sign
up sheet will be located at the Mo Hi tent area. The first meet is this week end so we
need to get snacks organized quick! An easy way to ensure enough food for our kids
for this first meet is to have parents bring items according to the first innitial of the
student's last name. So for March 6th A-F bring fruit, G-L bring bagels, PB and J,
cheese sandwiches etc., M-R bring granola bars, crackers etc. and S-Z bring water,
gatorade, juice. We will save whatever we have left over for the following meet
(excluding sandwiches of course!!). If the meet gets canceled for any reason (i.e.
major snow storm) we will do snack in this manner for the meet on the 13th. At that
point we can start the parent sign up sheet.
Thanks for your help in keeping our Coyotes well fed and energized! Robin Davis

Subject: Healthy snacks for track meets
Track Parents, Track is once again upon us and our kids get hungry out there!!! Paula
Nelson and I are coordinating healthy snacks to be brought to the meets for our kids to
munch on through out the long days spent at the track. We need to get a parent
volunteer to coordinate food for the JV games. Kent told me that there will be 3-4 JV
only meets. If we could get a parent to be in charge of a sign up sheet for drinks and
snacks for those meets then no single parent would have to be responsible for it all.
We will handle the Varsity meets in the same way. Healthy items brought to meets in
the past have been yogurt, bananas, oranges, grapes, granola bars, PBand J
sandwiches, bagels and cream cheese, bottled water, juice boxes, gatorade .... you get
the picture!! Nothing sugary or high in fat. Costco is generally a good place to get
most of these items. Also a small folding table is always handy as well as a cooler or
two for items needing refrigeration. I will send out a sign up sheet soon for Varsity
meets and it would be our hope that 4-6 parents per meet can take care of all of the
food and then their snack responsibility would be done for the season. I hope this
sounds OK to you. If you have any ideas or input please let me know asap as I will be
sending out more info soon! Thanks all and go Coyotes!!!!! Robin Davis
Hey Everyone,
I could use 3-4 volunteers to help time/record at tomorrow's practice. Please e-mail me if you can help
out.
Also, for those of you who were not able to attend the meeting on Wednesday, Julie Olsen from the
Monarch catering dept, is having a class on preparing nutritional meals for athlete's next Wednesday at
5:30 in her classroom. Julie is an accomplished tri athlete as well as a nutritionist and can provide some
very valuable tips for making the right decisions when preparing food for athlete's in training. The cost
is $10 to offset the cost of the dinner and dessert you will be making. Space is limited to 30 people, with
7 having already signed up , so please let me know if you would like to attend.
Coach
Hey Everyone,
Attached are the forms that were passed out at the track meeting tonight, in case you did not get them
or were not able to make the meeting.
Coach
Hey Everyone,
Just a reminder that we have an informational meeting tonight for parents and athlete's at 6pm in the
school cafeteria. Shouldn't go more than 30 minutes.
Also, Solepepper's is hosting "Spike Night" this Friday from 5-8. All spirit pack orders will be due at that
time. Please make out your checks to Solepepper Sports.
There is no school on Friday, however, there is practice at 10am!
Coach
Hey Everyone,
Just a reminder that track practices begin on Monday the 22nd. You must
be registered through the athletic office before you will be allowed to
practice with the team. Practices become mandatory as of Monday!
We will have an informational meeting for parents and athletes on Wednesday
the 24th at 6:00pm in the school cafeteria to pass out information and
answer any questions you may have about the upcoming season.
I have attached the order form from Solepepper Sports for the spirit pack
orders. Orders will be due next Friday the 26th and can be turned in at
Solepeppers on "Spike Night" which is also on the 26th at Solpeppers from
5-8pm.
Coach
Hey Everyone,

will not be allowed to practice with the team until their registration packet is complete and turned in to
the athletic office.

Pack order forms will need to be turned in by Feb 26th.
The 2010 schedule has been attached, but we are still looking to add 1-2 more JV meets to the schedule.
Updates will be sent as changes are made.
Our first official practice is next Monday the 22nd at 3:15. In inclement weather, we meet in the hallway
outside of the small gym, otherwise we will meet on the North end of the track. Practices will become
mandatory at that point. Make sure you come prepared to practice in all types of weather, hats, gloves,
sweatshirts and sweatpants are a must!
Hope everyone is ready for a great season!
Coach
Hey Everyone,

weeks from today Monday the 22nd! Hope you are ready for a great season!!
Coach
Hey Everyone,
We are getting closer to our goal of $2500 so we can order new warm ups for the track and cross country
teams, however, we are still about $900 short. If you are able to donate money it would be greatly
appreciated by your athlete's and the coaching staff! Again if you are able to donate, please make your
checks payable to Monarch Cross Country and send to Jeff Nelson at 415 Sunland St., Louisville, 80027.
If you are planning on participating in the upcoming track season, spring sports registration will begin on
Feb. 8th. Official practices begin on Feb. 22nd. Registration forms can be picked up at the athletic office.
Please make sure all athletes have had physical's within the last year, and if your year is coming up during
the season, make appointments now with your Doctor.
Coach
Hey Everyone,
We are still about $1600 short of our goal of $2500 to purchase new Nike warm ups for both Cross
Country and Track. I am asking parents to donate $25 if they are able, so that we can order the warm ups
and have them for the upcoming track season. If you can donate, please make your check payable to:
Monarch Cross Country and send them in care of: Jeff Nelson, 415 Sunland St., Louisville 80027.
Thanks,
Coach
Hey Everyone,
There is no practice today, enjoy your Monday and I'll see everyone tomorrow.

track and XC athlete's to please donate $25 each, if you can, in order to bridge our shortfall.
