PTA News:

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year! On behalf of myself and all of the officers of PTA we would like to give everyone our wishes for a fabulous new academic year. We are excited about the many changes in the district and at Monarch, including the earlier start day, assessment days and calendar holidays. There have been positive changes in classroom configurations and locations, new electives and changes to block scheduling. Monarch continues to grow and improve with each new year. Our PTA both supports and celebrates these innovative changes.

We are perhaps most enthusiastic about the decision we have made to change monthly PTA meetings to Thursdays during the day in a new brown bag lunch format, from 11:30-1:00.  We will be combining PTA with SIT (School Improvement Team) as we share so many members and goals. Our first meeting of this upcoming year will be on September 6th.  We hope you will join us.

We are proud to welcome many new members to the Monarch K-8 staff this year, and many new members to the PTA. Our elected Executive Officers for this year are:
President: Alison Adams
Vice President: Heidi Bolles
Second Vice President: Tracy Stegall
Treasurer: Beth Isaacs
Secretary: Beth Webb

Among the elected Chairs of committees for this year are:
Special Funds Committee: Elizabeth Kaufman
Nutrition Committee: Chris Heuston
Membership and Gold C Chair: Sandy Johnson
Volunteer Coordinator: Lynne Harlow
Hospitality Coordinator: Chrissy Palmen
Fun Run Chair: Adriane Stewart

The openings we are still seeking for the upcoming year include:
Community Partners Chair
Read-A-Thon Chair
Communications Chair
District and State Representative’s

We hope you will consider joining this positive and supportive organization that is so active in the school community. There are many ways to be involved at all levels. It is amazing how much more we have been able to do each year as more individuals have participated in our great group. Come grow with us!
