 Biography

My name is Diane Bohan and this is my fourth year as a teacher-- a profession that I am passionate about!  My career path is a bit unique.  I started as a Safety engineer for Oldsmobile and held a variety of positions during my 14 years with General Motors, culminating as the personnel director for the Saturn car company. Following, I worked as an organizational consultant/ trainer for various companies throughout the United States and Canada.  My decision to go into teaching resulted from experiences I encountered when my three sons were going to school – right here in the Boulder Valley School District!  I was a very active parent who appreciated the devotion of the teachers and administrators in BVSD. I just felt “pulled” towards that positive energy and the chance to make a difference.  My teaching style is very supportive, interactive and collaborative.  I have high expectations of students and work with them to set and monitor individual goals.  I try my best to provide instruction that is rigorous, relevant and fun!    It is my goal that students leave my classes feeling successful and wanting to learn more.

Philosophical Statement
Life is a roller coaster and we should enjoy the ride! The stumbling blocks of life are really building blocks just waiting to happen! We should all embrace our stumbling blocks and work to turn them into
B.-U.-I.-L.-Ding  blocks through Balance, Understanding, Integrity, Learning and Determination. We'll be better people in the long run. It's all about life-long learning from our experiences both good and bad:)
