Students need to be held to high expectations and to be supported, encouraged, and celebrated in their pursuits as lifelong learners.  I want them to develop the skills and the intellectual courage to think critically and to reason, to participate actively and responsibly in their communities, and to pursue whatever goals they choose as they grow older.
