We have bikes to lend and students who participate regularly and do not own a bike will be given a bike and helmet after attending 10 Bike Club sessions.
Photography: Wednesdays 3:30-5:00pm Ms. Pierpont. Are you a photo freak—someone who takes pictures of everything and everyone--or would you like to become one? Then the after school Photo Freak Workshop is for you! We’ll take a walking or bus tour around town each week and focus on a theme or idea, such as “It’s a Small World,” where everything you photograph is tiny. You’ll learn how to use the macro (extreme closeup) setting on our Nikon cameras to keep the bugs, blades of grass, stones, and anything else you photograph in focus. Then we’ll come back to campus, download your images and use editing tools to enhance them, and that’s just one week! Classes meet from 3:30-5 each Wednesday afternoon and the cameras are provided. You’ll need parent permission to leave campus—we’ll have three New Vista High School photo freaks joining us each week. Sign up now—there’s a 15 student limit. First meeting is Jan. 11 in the library. Commit to all 20 workshops, 10, or just 5. Sign up with Ms. Taylor in the office.
Cheer Team: Wednesdays 3:30-5pm. Go Casey Go! Learn cheers, dance moves and have lots of fun supporting the Casey Cubs! Taught by Boulder High School Cheerleaders.
360 Leaders: 1st/3rd Wednesdays of the Month 7:40-8:40 Ms. Wheeler. "360 Leadership" is designed to help develop leadership skills by offering students opportunities to engage in real-life projects that build a stronger Casey community and support a positive school culture. Skills students develop include: mentorship, creative problem-solving, organization, public-speaking, commitment, and teamwork. While this class is designed for Casey360 leaders, all Casey students interested in this opportunity are invited to attend.
