Welcome to the Eisenhower "Ike" Library webpage!
My name is Sam Palsmeier and I’m the Guy-brarian at Eisenhower.
The Media Center plays an essential supporting role in our community to meet our educational goals.
I want our students to become independent learners and readers. Students need to develop information literacy skills and be able to “Answer my own questions.”
Today information is organized more and more in digital formats. These resources present new challenges to learners and information seekers. Children especially need to develop and integrate “perseverance” skills with digital and online resources.
Through the continuation of reading for enjoyment, gaining knowledge and critical thinking skills, and the introduction and integration of new Web 2.0 applications and digital information systems, we will build a new vision of the media center and provide a Twenty-First century learner environment.
Location: The Ike Library is located in the NW corner of our school-all the way down the hallway from the office.
Hours: M-F 8:15am-3:30pm |
Come see the beautiful mural in the library. This mural is now the header for the Ike Webpage and was created by our very own Mario Olvera

Author Visit by Donald Samson
Local author Donald Samson recently discussed the inspiration and ideas behind his "Star Trilogy" series. Third, fourth, and fifth graders listened to Donald explain the writing to publishing process behind his first novel The Dragon Boy.

**Nooks in the Library!
The Ike Library has purchased 18 Simple Touch Nook eReaders. These Nooks are currently being checked out to 5th graders and contain the new 2012 Newbery Award winning books. More books will be added throughout the school year. Our Nook program is possble thanks to the funds we raised from the fall book fair.
