There are many alternatives to going to college. Some students delay college for a year while others choose to attend vocational schools or community colleges, or choose to enlist in the military.
There are two additional uniformed services that are non-military. They are the NOAA Corps (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps) and the PHSCC Corps (Public Health Service Commissioned Corps).
