What is ICAP? All students participate in a progression of career and college guidance lessons that are designed to help them discover more about their interests, learning styles, personality traits, 4-year course plans, research for college or alternatives after high school, writing resumes, essays, funding higher education, and more. This program is called, “ICAP: Individual Career and Academic Plan,” and is presented by the counselors to classes of students (9-12) in the Post Grad Center. Most of the lessons use the Naviance-Family Connection software. Students receive a user name (their email account) and password for the Naviance/Family Connections when they complete the ICAP assignments. Access to this software is also available to parents. Parents: Do you have your Naviance/Family Connection logon? If you need logon information, please contact the Counseling Office 720-561-5860 or 720-561-5331.
Each school plans the timing of the individual lessons, but the goals of the ICAP program are listed on the Colorado Dept. of Ed. website: http://www.cde.state.co.us/SecondaryInitiatives/ICAP.htm
Office hours are: daily. 720-561-5328 or 720-561-5331. Counselors and support staff provide students with academic, social-emotional, and college-career counseling during their years at Fairview and students are assigned to counselors according to the alpha listing of last names.
