- Senior Class of 2012: There is still time to investigate college choices. Many colleges have application deadlines in late spring and summer. As you research college campuses and other options for your years after high school, come to the Post Grad Center for help with all aspects of your search and application process. Requests and forms for letters of recommendation from counselors and teachers are due one month before application deadline. Some scholarships have no specific deadlines:
Christian College Scholarship Drawing – Use this college information site to be entered into a drawing for a college scholarship, $2,500, no deadline.
Colorado Contractors Association CWCF Scholarship Program – Juniors and seniors interested in a career in heavy-highway-municipal-utility construction, $2,500, no deadline.
SIT Study Abroad Scholarships – For semester or summer programs, need based, $5,000, no deadline.

Official test scores for the SAT and ACT need to be sent directly to colleges. Order these scores online from www.act.org and www.collegeboard.com.

Some colleges will want a transcript showing your grades from the fall semester. These can be ordered from the Counseling Office in January.
When requesting financial aid from colleges, students and parents need to fill out the FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Information is available on www.fafsa.gov and Fairview will be hosting an information session in the auditorium in January. Watch for upcoming details. CREDITS for GRADUATION: It is also time to check that you are taking the classes required to complete your BVSD graduation requirements. If you see that you are missing any courses, see your counselor immediately.
