BS Political Science with a minor in Sociology

Teaching Experience:
This is my 17th year of teaching.  I started my career in Miami, Florida teaching 3rd grade.  This is my 14th year at LES.  This year I am teaching 2nd/3rd.  I have previously taught 2nd, 4th and 5th grades at LES.

Hobbies or personal interests:
Geocaching!  I love anything outdoors, but have a special love for the ocean and swimming.  I also enjoy camping, traveling with my family, hiking, reading and gardening.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
The kids!  I enjoy learning something new from them everyday...they truly teach me and their energy is contagious.  I also enjoy the partnerships that are formed with parents and families.  Their support is truly amazing.  Thank you to the Lafayette community, staff, and kids...I love teaching at Lafayette Elementary!

Special Interests:
I taught 6 years at Lafayette Elementary as a 1st grade teacher. This year is my third year teaching 2nd grade. I enjoy skiing, mountain biking, hiking, rollerblading, and running. I also enjoy traveling and playing the piano. I am looking forward to another wonderful year working with students, parents, staff, and the community of Lafayette!

What was your most memorable summer adventure?
I enjoyed spending quality time catching up with friends and family and hiking in the beautiful Colorado outdoors.

Teaching Experience:
4 years-2nd and 3rd grade-Cherry Creek Schools
1 year-Teaching English in Taichung, Taiwan
2 years-Preschool-YMCA of Denver
This is my first year teaching at Lafayette, after staying at home to raise my three boys for the past eight years.

Hobbies and personal interests:
I love to ski and snowboard with my family. We also enjoying camping and playing sports together. Just about anything outdoors will peak my interest! Sewing, gardening and exercising are also things that keep me busy. I enjoy playing my violin on a regular basis with a community symphony based in Golden.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
Having fun in the classroom and making learning something that all kids enjoy is a great way to spend a day at work!
