MHS is a college preparatory, comprehensive high school where more than 97 percent of graduates enroll in post-secondary education. All of our students experience success through our vast array of curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular programs.
Our students receive encouragement and support to stretch themselves academically through rigorous Advanced Placement (AP) and college-level course offerings within our school. In addition, our highly competitive sports and fine arts programs provide multiple opportunities for students to pursue excellence.
Students benefit from our modified block schedule, which features a late start on Wednesdays for faculty professional development and student tutor time. Upperclassmen enjoy off-campus privileges with good grades, attendance, and behavior, while freshmen and sophomores remain on campus during the school day.
For students interested in technology and industry, our award-winning Career and Technical Education department includes innovative programs in business, catering, computer science, marketing, and robotics, all with internship opportunities. The da Vinci Lab gives students opportunities to explore pre-engineering, pre-design, and applied technology. In 2008 Monarch launched Colorado's first High School of BusinessTM, which is a national college-preparatory program for business administration careers.
