Speech & Debate

Forensics includes debate, public speaking, and interpretation events in a competitive setting.

Monarch’s competitive forensics team is a tightly knit, yet welcoming community.  Speech students have an extremely diverse range of interests, from improving public speaking skills to learning about world issues to just wanting to spend time with the team every Saturday.  In forensics, students make friends and gain skills that last a lifetime.

Forensics is a highly regarded extracurricular activity among universities, giving students increased opportunities for scholarships and from prestigious schools.  It teaches rhetoric and analytic skills, improves critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and self-confidence.

Monarch was the 2010 Winner of the Leading Chapter Award in the Rocky Mountain-North District, the highest honor the National Forensics League bestows.  Our program has produced numerous state and national qualifiers and is a consistent top performer at regional-and state-level competitions.
