Marching Band usually competes in 5 competitions during the Fall and performs at every home football game. The competitions take place mid-September to late October on Saturdays. The State Regional Qualifying event will be during the week, after school. The marching band goes to Disney World once every four years to compete nationally. The band went to Disney World in Spring of 2005 and Disneyland in 2009. Monarch also marches in Town of Superior 4th of July parade, the Louisville Labor Day Parade and the Parade of Lights in Louisville every year.
Tag Day: Marching Band holds their annual TAG DAY in September. Students go out into the Superior and Louisville communities in uniform and ask for donations to the marching program. Proceeds are used to support the band during the marching season. All students are expected to participate and many parent volunteers are needed to make a successful TAG DAY. This is a very successful fundraiser the students find very rewarding.
Marching Band Donations: The donation for the 2012 season is $400. Marching Band is self supported through family donations and fundraising by the marching band. Please check with your employer about the availability of matching grants. Donations to Marching Band are charitable donations and a tax receipt will be provided.
