Estimados padres de familia:
 
Este viernes es un día de desarrollo profesional para los maestros, así que no habrá clases para los estudiantes. Los maestros van a estar aprendiendo más acerca del nuevo currículo que será implementado en el año 2013.
 
Necesitamos voluntarios que ayuden a devolver libros a las estanterías en la biblioteca. Si tienen un tiempito durante el que nos pueden ayudar, por favor pónganse en contacto con david.smith@ bvsd.org,
 
También queremos pedirles que nos ayuden a preservar el tiempo de los maestros por la mañana, antes de la escuela, recordando a sus hijos que deben quedarse en el patio de recreo o en la cafetería hasta las 7:55 am, cuando deben entrar a sus clases. Los días de mal tiempo abriremos la biblioteca para los estudiantes.
 
Gracias al restuarante “The Kitchen” y los padres voluntarios Mo Bray y Duane Harrison por su apoyo y liderazgo con el nuevo jardín de aprendizaje que será instalado este sábado que viene.
 
El día 25 de abril los estudiantes van a conocer a sus maestros del año que viene. Pasaran como 20 minutos con cada maestra(o). Por su parte, los alumnos de 5to grado que van a Angevine estarán visitando su próxima escuela. Los que van a otras escuelas intermedias estarán en las clases de arte, música y educación física.
 
Durante las próximas semanas, los maestros trabajaran colaborativamente formando las clases del año que viene. Por favor, tengan en consideración que trabajamos duro para poder mantener un equilibrio de niños y niñas, idioma y estudiantes con necesidades especiales en cada clase. Por lo tanto, queremos recordarles que no podemos aceptar solicitudes para tener maestros específicos.
Mil gracias a Roxane Amend por su ayuda con este noticiero. Tambien al PTA, Melissa Martinez and Natalya Wolsworth por su ayuda organizando el "jog-a-thon". Ademas, queremos dar las gracias a Susan Daly por su liderazgo con la feria de aprendizaje y a Gabriel Lavastida por coordinar el reto del Bolder Boulder.

Hello everyone,

Don’t forget that this Friday is a teacher professional development day. There will be no school for students. Teachers will be involved in learning more about Boulder Valley’s newly adopted curriculum which will be fully implemented by the 2013-2014 school year.
 
We are in need of parent volunteers to help us return books to the shelves in the library during the school day. Please email David Smith at david.smith@ bvsd.org; if you can help out.
 
Please help us provide teachers with a bit of time in the morning to prepare for class by making sure that if your child arrives to school early, he/she remain on the playground or in the cafeteria until 7:55 am. There is no supervision of students on the playground prior to 7:45 am. On inclement weather days we will open the library for students in the morning.
 
Thanks to the “Kitchen Restaurant” and parent volunteers Mo Bray and Duane Harrison for all their hard work and generosity with spearheading Pioneer’s learning garden which will be installed Saturday April 21st.
 
On April 25th, students will be meeting their teachers for next year during our annual transition day. Students at each grade level will spend approximately 25 minutes with each of the teachers in the following year’s grade level. 5th grade students attending Angevine will be there for an orientation and those not attending Angevine will spend time in Specials.
 
Teachers will be collaboratively compiling class lists for the 2012-13 over the next three weeks. Please keep in mind that teachers work really hard to create classrooms which are balanced with respect to language, gender and special needs. As such, we don’t accept requests for specific teachers and ask you partner with us in assuring that our classes are equitably balanced.
 
A special thanks to PPAC representative Roxane Amend for putting together this, and future bi-weekly newsletters.  Thanks also to the PTA, Melissa Martinez and Natalya Walsworth, for their leadership and generous contribution of their time in preparing for the jog-a-thon.  Also thanks to Susan Daly for her leadership in coordinating Pioneer’s learning fair and Gabriel Lavastida for sponsoring the Bolder Boulder challenge.
