Sanchez Elementary was fully accredited following an on-site evaluation October, 2002. The on-site team awarded 44 of 50 possible points; the District Accountability Committee reviewers awarded 50 of 50 possible points. Feedback from these external evaluations was reviewed with our staff, PTA and SIT to continuously improve the educational experience of Sanchez students. Despite demographic challenges of poverty, second language learning, and mobility we are proud to be "Beating the Odds."

Adele Bravo (1st grade teacher) was named Colorado Teacher of the Year and our community feels very honored to have her at our school. Lynn Williams (1st grade) was one of four finalists for the Colorado Teacher of the Year. Several teachers have successfully applied for and received Boulder Valley Foundation Mini-Grants and technology grants. Grant Swift and Carl Sanchez received a $5000 grant from Lowe's.
