2nd Grade Teacher Biographies
Bev Sanders
Bev began her career out of college as a sports writer for a newspaper in central California, but after too many late nights, decided that she wanted to go back to school to become a teacher. She has now been teaching in Lafayette for 14 years and was the after school coordinator at Ryan Elementary for 3 years before she began teaching. She has taught fourth grade at Lafayette Elem. and fifth grade at Pioneer, and fourth and Fifth grade at Sanchez. She has a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from CU Boulder. Bev is also coaching as the head volleyball coach at Centaurus High School.
Along with all the teaching, Bev has three children. Alex, a graduate of Black Hills State in South Dakota ; Dillon graduated from the University of Northern Colorado; and Evan is a senior at the University of Washingtonand plays volleyball for the Huskies. She also has four dogs: Buddy, Roxy, and Cheyenne and Wayne.
Bev's favorite activities include: reading, hanging out with family and friends and drinking Starbuck's.

Susan Mesches
Susan moved to Colorado from New York in 1998. She started teaching at Sanchez in 2000. She has been teaching fourth grade since 2001.
Susan received her Bachelor’s Degree from Creighton University, her Master’s Degree from the University of New England, and an ESL certificate from Regis University.
Susan has lived in seven states. She not only likes teaching, she likes going to school, too. Wherever she has lived, she has taken classes. Susan has taken classes at sixteen different junior colleges, colleges or universities.
