I am originally from a VERY small town in rural Iowa called Mechanicsville. I attended the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. I met my husband, Gabe, at UNI. He was my accounting tutor! We live in Broomfield with our wacky and loveable yellow labrador retriever, Samson. We currently do not have children, but we are in a very exciting process of adopting a little girl from Korea. We are so excited to welcome home the newest member of our family. We are anticipating her arrival in late 2011.
My first eight years after graduating from college were spent working in the Human Resources field. In 2005, I began pursuing my dream of becoming a teacher. I completed the Teacher Education Program through the University of Denver, and I have been teaching 5th grade at Superior Elementary ever since! The best part of teaching 5th grade is the exciting end-of-year trip to Calwood. It loads of fun with campfires, night hikes, and team building activities! I feel so fortunate to be teaching at a school with such wonderful students and families.
