Welcome to Cathy Shelby's 4th Grade!!
I am a Boulder native and attended school in the Boulder Valley School District for K – 12th grades. Because I love Boulder so much, I then went to the University of Colorado where I received my BS in Psychology and Educator License in 1991. I also went to CU for Graduate school where I got my Master’s degree in literacy in 1998.
I began my career with Adams County School District 50 in 1991. My first six years I taught 5th grade, then four years of 3rd grade and the last two years I was in that district I was a literacy teacher for 2nd and 3rd graders. In 2003 I was lucky to begin teaching at Superior where I job-shared for one year with Carrie Cantrell in 2nd grade. In 2004 I moved up to 3rd grade and then in 2009 I looped with my class to 4th grade where I am very happy to be.
My husband, Sean, our daughters, Brooke and Courtney, and I all live in Rock Creek. We love the community very much and you’ll often find us out walking our yellow lab, Griff, or at the park or community events. When I’m not busy having fun teaching or being mom, I love to jog, hike, bike, read, and scrapbook.
